Do not buy bicycles from Makro
On or about 13 August 2017 we bought a Totem XC100 MTB bicycle from Makro for our grand son's birthday. One week later the selection arm at the rear gears collapsed and the bicycle could not be used. The people at Makro were so kind an the replaced it a week or two later with a Totem Mojo Fatty 3.0 BMX. Whilst pumping the wheel on a day in late October, the rear tyre came off the rim an the tube burst. Going back to Makro we were informed that they do not keep tyres or tubes for this kind of bicycle. We went all over Pretoria and Centurion just to find out that this size of tyres and tube is not available in South Africa. We went back to Makro just to be informed that they cannot help us in any way.
Considering this bad experience I can only deduct that Makro is not a responsible vender, not taking accountability for product support of their bicycle sales.
Lastly, I must mention that the Manager at Makro Centurion, Mr Baale, and his person responsible for the bicycle sales, Mr Marumo, were very kind, but their system did not allow them to assist us.
