Disrespectful, Misconduct and Arrogant

I got your contact details from Khanya Mnamiya who is a "manager" (you will undersatnd why I put it in inverted comas if you read.) at Amanzimtoti. I have also cc'd the main customer care on this email, and I will also follow up this complaint at HelloPeter so that it is in the public eye. I am not impressed with with the conduct of Ms/Mrs Mnamiya on the afternoon of the 28th Nov 2019, at around 6pm.

Here is the main reason: I took from the shelf six Raid Electric Mosquito ****er Refills I saw the price of R45 for two of them. The arrow was pointing directly at these items so I decided to stock up as I have the adaptors at home. There were other items in my cart , and I proceeded to the express till. Having done my calculation, I was expecting to pay a R345 (three Liquid Skips for R120, 6 Domestos toilet blocks for R100, and 6 of those refills for R145). When I get to the till, they tell me I have to pay over R500. This is were issues start. The refills were priced differently from what I saw on the shelf. The cashier told me it happens, and called a supervisor, who sent someone to the shelf. The lady who was sent, came back with the tag that shows the special, and confirmed that it was sitting at those specific refills I took, but has a different code.

The supervisor goes on to speak with someone who, and comes back to change the price on the system. However, she charges R45 per item. I correct her and say that it is supposed to be R45 fper two. She gave up. When away again, and comes back with Khanya!!!!

And this is were the plot thickens. Khanya comes, and she asks me what seems to be the problem, even though it must have been explained to her by the supervisor. It is at this moment that I observed the gross misconduct I am quoting in the subject line.

Mind you, I have not been on this so called express till from more than 12 minutes, and have actually missed going into the bottle store cause the store is closed.

1. Her approach to ask me what seem to be the problem was to size me up. Because I was wearing a work denim shirt, she looked down at me, Although I re-explained what was already explained to her. 2. She follows up her disrespecting me by saying and I will quote this verbatim "The items are the same. So you have only two choice, either buy at the correct price or buy the other items." and finally as I argue my points with her she says with total arrogance "As a manager of this store. I am telling you.................".. I shut down, because she would have said this if I was wearing a different work attire which I normally wear, that would have showed her I hold way higher position than here, and much more learned than she could even be in her life, So let us discuss this: a) There was incompetence in someone placing the tag for the special on the wrong items. That there is not my fault. Consider that I had two other items on my trolley that were 3 for R120 and 6 for R100. So I cannot have made a mistake in taking these refills. b) Mistakes happen, and she should have approached me to express this mistake from her employees in false advertising. Apologized for the inconvenience and we might have moved on. But no, she had to take it to her "powerful position", and the choices she is giving me. c) Her conduct was not in anyway whatsoever costumer based, as she came there to prove a point that deal with the false advertising that Makro had displayed on the shelf. She went on to tell me the barcodes are not even the same, In which I asked, which customer ever reads the barcode, and that, we take where the arrow is pointing. In all your Black 5 Day items on sale, Are we now supposed to to check the barcodes??? So I left the items.

3. I ask her for the contact details of the person I must complain to, she first tells me the name, and the says to me, verbatim, "Google her". I proceeded to demand that she rights me this contact details, in which I am not sure it is even correct, hence including the main customer care.

4. Her offer to give me the right item was also malicious, as these refills do not fit on the same adapter, and I have the correct adapter at home for the ones that I had in my cart.

5. Finally, one of her desperate arguments was that the item description is not even the same (see attached), but the refills I had were also electric, and again I say, in store full of people and at busy time like black Friday, and the time of the day. The right items should be placed on the correct spot. That is not my fault. And this was confirmed by the lady who bough back the pink tag, to say I was on the right here,

Effects to me; My time was wasted in all of this. I went to Makro today, after a long day at work, to check and pick up things that I need before the commotion tomorrow and the weekend. But I eded upi standing at the express till for a long time, missing out on the bottle store. All in ahile with my patience only to be disrespect by a shop floor manager, who was just judgemental by what I decided to wear to work on the day. There worst of it all is that they all willing to sweep it under the rug, until they realised their mess up that is was actually 2 items for R45. It's Black Friday, that price is believable.

Therefore I employ you to address this lady's behavior, as well as redress my time that was wasted on this till without coming to an amicable solution.

Check my details: Card number ***1, and you will understand why I felt so disrespected by this lady. I even have a good mind to actually demand an apology from her too.
