Defy washing machine faulty and has never worked since it was purchased
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to bring to your attention an issue that has arisen with my Defy washing machine. It has been brought to my attention, by your esteemed technicians, that the machine's functionality is being adversely affected by an irregularity in the voltage at my residence. While other appliances in my home appear to be functioning appropriately, the Defy washing machine requires a specific electrical power of 220V, which, as per your claim, it is not receiving. This renders the machine unusable, making it impossible for me to carry out my laundry tasks.
Regrettably, the washing machine has been non-functional since its receipt, despite several attempts to remedy the situation. Given its persistent malfunction, I respectfully request a refund and do not wish to keep the machine. It is noteworthy that the Defy washing machine appears to be the only appliance affected by voltage irregularities, as other devices in my household continue to operate correctly. It is worth mentioning that the wiring was performed by a licensed professional and authorized by the Ethekwini Municipality. You should be aware that the South African electrical home voltage is uniform across the board: 220/230V and 50Hz with a type M. This is not rocket science, but simple ABC.
Lastly, I would like to emphasize that I purchased the washing machine to aid with household c****s, not for it to be merely displayed. I am disappointed with Defy, as it is the first time I have encountered such a situation. For the record, most of my household appliances are Defy, but I am considering exploring other brands.
I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to receiving your response.
