Defective screen on TV.
I bought a TV from Makro. Next day we received delivery. Upon delivery I checked the screen for no scratches or dents. Verified power to the unit as well.
Later on in the day when we removed the TV from packaging and switched it on, we noticed a defect on the lower right of the screen. We immediately repackaged the unit and awaited the next day to go to the store.
We were assisted by the returns department. When they switched the TV on we noticed the defect was spreading throughout the screen. After spending over an hour with multiple people inspecting the unit the senior manager had said that they will have to do an investigation with the dispatch and courier team and liaise with the supplier of the TV.
I was not pleased with this outcome as it was under 24 hours of receiving the unit when we had taken it back to inform of the same. In addition there was a lady at returns stating I signed the delivery note stating I acknowledged goods in order upon receipt. I was not in agreement with this as even though esthetically the goods were in order and power was to the unit, I am unable to see a LCD defect as I was not informed this was a requirement and the unit was not completely unpacked for me to see the corner of the TV. Thus they should have had a checklist in place on the delivery note stating exactly what I should be checking upon receiving.
The TV costed R15 999 and we were told that the only resolution at this stage is to leave the unit with the store for investigation and pending outcome of investigation we will be told way forward. So we currently have no TV with less R15 999.
We are awaiting feedback with hope of a positive outcome.
