Complaint regarding advertised lines and poor customer service

I had recieved Makros latest catalog on tuesday the 10th of January 2017 whereby the promotion ends on the 6th of february 2017. I had numerous lines to purchase based on this catalog totaling to a rand value of R5700 based on six different items. I decided to go to Makro arbor crossing in amanzimtoti durban today (12/01/2017) and I was surprised to discover that none of the items that I wanted to purchase was in stock. I was very disappointed due the fact that I had taken time off, wasted my effort, my fuel costs as i travelled approximately 60km on a return trip. I then called for the departmental manager known as Kesha. Her response was that she is sorry but the suppliers have let them down. She was unable to assist any further. I then requested to see the general manager heading the division but instead I was told that the general manager was not in. I then requested to see the deputising person and i was referred to lungi as the deputising general manager. Added to my frustration and disappointment, expecting Lungi to be more enlightening, understanding, cooperative and being helpful, instead, i recieved total coldness from her stating that theres nothing she can do to help as it was a supplier problem and this happens everywhere. I then asked her if the stocks are not in then why was the catalog released, but responded again as there is nothing she can do but she would take my details and call me when the stock arrives. I further showed her a list of all items that i required and could not even get one item out of the store which was advertised. Instead she walked away and asked Kesha to proceed by taking down my details. I must say that Makro being part of wallmart group leaves alot to be desired regarding people in senior positions as my experience of today have confirmed that Makro needs to revisit some of the employees appointments.

They also were quite happy for us to lay a complaint instead of trying the be helpful and polite.

I also would suggest that Makro offer their staff, especially management, some training in customer relations. If Makro offers training in this regard then I strongly believe that the people who are being trained are not worthy of these positions as the customer leaves the store very unsettled and dissatisfied.

Very disappointed and upset and I hope Makro would take this complaint seriously.
