Complaint about Makro Online Purchase
Good Day
I bought a tap from your Online store and boy oh boy, what a big mistake I made.
The tap was installed and started leaking a few days after but I initially thought that the plumber installed it incorrectly.
I called in a different plumber who advised that in fact, the Tap has a factory fault and I must take it back to where it was purchased from so that it can get fixed.
I went to Makro Germiston who informed me that because I made the purchase Online I needed to log the collection of this Tap Online, of which I did. I wrapped the Tap in a box that I had in the house and it was collected by the courier company last week.
Yesterday (Thursday 04 November 2021) I received the Tap back in the exact same condition that I sent it and it was wrapped exactly how I wrapped it, which is an indication that it was not inspected. I had to call your Call centre to ask what is wrong with it and they also did not know, but they advised that I need to wait for the manufacturer to call me back and would give me feedback.
I am so disappointed in the fact that I spent a week washing my dishes using bucket water only to receive the same leaking Tap, which has caused damage to my sink and cupboards.
I regret the fact that I actually bought the same Tap at CTM but since your price was much cheaper i took it back to them for a refund and I chose your product. Had I stuck with my first choice or even purchased it from the trusted Take A Lot, I bet you that I would not have had this horrible experience.
Your customer experience has left me with a sour taste, so despondent and utterly disgusted with your brand.
I will be posting my sentiments on other Social media platforms so that I can alert other consumers and make them aware of the risk of purchasing through Makro Online. You just don't care and have no clue of the basic principles of customer service.
I really hope hope that you make an effort and hire more capable individuals who actually care to give you customers a more memorable experience. You can learn a thing or two from Take a Lot and other Online stores who are all about creating a memorable experience.
Maybe you should stick to old school store selling.
Not so Kind Regards
Karabo
