Can salespeople be provided with proper trained and know that it is not right to oversell a product especially if you have no knowledge about the product and the brand.

MAKRO ALBERTON worsed custome service. sooo I went there looking for a “SMART TV” that can adept and accommodate the 21st century. A product/ brand was over sold to me by a sales person called Beverley Masangane after I was very clear about the specs I’m looking for. I even made a comparison to the other brands and gave her a silly examples like : Does this TV have Netflix & Showmax? And she agreed that I will not be making a mistake by purchasing this TV. This was a surprise gift to my mom, which I dropped off and asked a very loyal neighbor to assist in installing and setting up everything for mom. Called mom after a few days and she confirmed that the device was all set up and she can successfully watch TV. When I paid mom a visit I notice that Showmax was not installed on the TV and so I took some time to try and figure it out with no luck. Because of other commitments I had to leave but asked my cousin sister to go and try and see if she can figure it out. After watching several YouTubes videos she also could not install Showmax on this TV. Today I called “30 Sept 2024” the Tech guys specifically assisting with queries for this TV brand. Gentlemen was very helpful but could not do anything to help. He advised that I take the TV back to the store and ask the salesman to assist because they apparently know how to install Showmax on this particular model. Called the store to find out what to do next instead I was sent from pillar to post. I’ve asked to talk to the manager “Tumi Seleke” not sure if I was given the correct name. She said this is not her problem and she cannot help me and why did I take soo long “3months” to notice this. So the sales person who sold this to me said this TV had all the specs I was looking for. And now I realize she was just trying to make a Sale at my Expense. I’m a “keep with the times” type of person and I would not have bought this TV knowing what I know now. The sales lady did not bring this information to my attention and I guess I gave her the benefit of the doubt thinking she knew her products given that I also explained what I’m looking for. To my surprise she actually knows nothing about this product/band. What do I do with this useless TV🥹I’m not happy and feel that people take advantage of us buyers/customers especially if we don’t know our rights. Please help me. “TV bought 13 July 2024” - complaint 30 Sep 2024
