Buyer Beware
Sunday 20 March went to Makro to spend my ebucks on a new computer. I had gone online and thought all I needed to do was take my ebucks card and swipe and get my 40% discount. I bought a fridge last year.
The Asus 303907EA was on special marked down from R8999 to R6999. Except that the sticker said R7999..
I paid with ebucks at 9.09 realised that I had been given no discount by ebucks. Called them at 9.15 for 7 mins. Their terms and conditions are complicated and I had misunderstood and nothing could be done. Makro could reverse the transaction and give me a makro voucher for R6999, but my ebucks with their discount were gone. So a mistake could not be rectified minutes later. Why? Only if I bought online or with a voucher do you get a discount? And what about the misleading advertising saying I had saved R2000 as per my slip when I had only saved R1000. Am very very sad. I saved for a year ... and a simple mistake has cost me about R3000.
