Beware of Makro!

I just bought an extension cord for my car lighter. The shelf price was labelled as R109.00 but I got charged R129.00 at the till. When I complained to the shop assistant in store (automotive section), I was told to return the item to the Returns Department and get issued with a credit note after which I should purchase the same item but take the shelf price label with me to ensure that the correct price would be charged at the till. Like many others I was not going to waste my time by doing this! <br> I was led to believe that the cause of the problem was a disconnect with head office who amended prices electronically before the shelf prices could be changed. Apparently the modus operandi changed because before, the shelve prices were received prior to such amendments. If this is an operational issue, which it seems to be, I shall be reluctant to buy from such a questionable retailer in future and I would like others to take care.
