Be very weary of shopping online at Makro

Be warned about shopping at Makro online... I bought a laptop via their online portal. After 5 days they cancelled the sale and said the model was out of stock. The refund timelines I have from them are: - 7 to 14 days - email - before 22 May - website showing order cancellation - 3 to 5 days - SMS & 2nd email

To my surprise, the exact same model was & is still for sale on their website, but at a different price. I called and asked them about this. They said its a different supplier. I bought from Makro, not a supplier. They don't understand this. They don't understand that can't say something is out of stock and continue selling it. I urgently need a laptop to do my job and cannot buy another one elsewhere until I receive my refund, which will take "who knows how many" days. When I have had online purchases cancelled before, the seller does a transaction reversal. The refund is immediate. Makro won't do this in 2026 & it says everything about how much they respect their customers. Also, received no email/sms confirmation of the purchase. I cannot even see a date or any order details on the website - they cover themselves from the start. If they did an immediate reversal, I could have handled them lying about why they cancelled the sale. I'm just an everyday citizen trying to make a living. I don't deserve this treatment. I will never do business with Makro again.
