Bad quality products

Bought earphones at Makro in December 2021 for my son. Took it back today as it is defective and not a year old. They told me it only has a 6 month guarantee, but could not show me on the slip or anywhere else. My concern is the consumer buys products at Makro and they do not last? By the way went back into Makro and bought new earphones, not sure how long before I will have to replace them.
