Awful treatmenta nd service

<p>On Sunday 6 November I purchased a SimCity game from MAKRO Cape Gate's last chance table for R69. It was unwrapped and obviously returned by someone, but it looked fine, so we took the chance. Turns out the game's activation code has been used already, and I can't redeem the same code - hence playing it is impossible.</p> <p> </p> <p>I posted to MAKRO SA's Facebook profile on that same day (we live a bit far to drive through to the store without promise of resolution) and the social media representative promised a customer service representative will get back to me. I prompted them for action on the 7th, 8th, 9th and 10 and eventually received a short call on the Thursday during which I was offered a R50 gift card - less than I paid for the game! I declined and the call centre agent promised to call me back. I still haven't heard anything and prompted them again on their Facebook wall on Friday to no avail.</p> <p> </p> <p>Not only did MAKRO sell a used game without checking with the game publishers if the code has been redeemed yet, but they also provide worse customers service than real estate agents and then offer me a refund less than what I've paid for.</p> <p> </p> <p>They're welcome to check with EA and Maxis when this code was redeemed and I suspect they'll find it was the previous purchaser. I won't be shopping at MAKRO again. Not if this is how they treat an honest and loyal customer.</p>
