****** at Makro crown mines

On the 23 of March, I went to Makro crown mines to do my monthly shopping. My husband and I had made a huge purchase as we often do. There was an Indian cashier, actually she was the only Indian cashier at that store. Our trolley was fairly large and she was very friendly and accommodating as well and well respected. She had asked one of the Packers to assist, but she denied saying she was assisting the guy cashier next to us. When another packer approached and and asked why she was not packing. She rep**** in our language stating that she would never pack for an Indian in this life time. At that moment they both began having a little tiff, which is when the indian cashier asked them both not to pack and she carried on packing and scanning my items on her own. The security that was present at the time witnessed what was going on and asked that another packer assist her which the young lady gladly did. I had even clicked a photo of the two Packers but unfortunately it was deleted by mistake. Both Packers had fairly short hair, the one was light in complexion (named Mpho) and the other darker with bright eye make up and because of the green bib I did not see her name, not sure if it was under the bib. If you guys are an international company, how so do yourll allow ******. I come from a home where we are taught diversity and when I witness something that so disgusting then I will not remain quite. The Indian cashier was really polite and after witnessing me click their photos she commented saying that they are still young and I should not mind them. I refuse to shop a t a place where ****** is so in your face and if we don't speak up then we too are just as wrong as they are.

Good morning,

Many thanks for your swift response , ****** is something we should do away with and had it just been the quarrelling for not wanting to pack my goods ,then I would have gladly helped the cashier but the racial slur from the packer(Mpho) and her arrogance is something that I will not tolerate and I hope the matter is dealt with accordingly so in future no one will be treated differently because of race. Kudos to the Indian cashier, if Makro had more employees of her calibre our shopping experience would be outstanding.

Many thanks,
Gladys Mandoza
