Any other retails store doesnt need a useless card
<p>I wanted to open up a credit account by Makro should I ever need it but didnt have all the needed paperwork, thats my fault. I was then told that I still need to apply for a makro card. I asked why do I need a card to purchase? I was told that, that is how they work. I dont understand the point of needing a card to purchase from a shop....it adds no value at all other than frustration should it be forgotten at home and I am standing at the till. No other retail store worth their salt need a card unless its an additional rewards card.</p>

This rule was formulated when Makro open its 1st store in 1971 in South Africa to keep track record of sales. We do filing of all the records of our customers purchases, we are able to reprint invoices for insurance purposes. We are able to recall an invoice for repairs and returns, with a Makro card we can trace your purchases for up to five years. Access to a Makro store is restricted to cardholders. This policy has allowed the building of one of the largest and most comprehensive cash customer databases in the Southern African distribution industry.
