After writing a review here (on 2 different accounts) i had my tablet fixed and brought back to me it had a problem again and i wrote another review and after weeks of back and forth correspondence they finally sent someone to get it. A few days after they contacted me again informing me that the Tablet cannot be fixed it had to be replaced and i have to pay nearly R900 which almost totals to the amount i payed when buying it.

The tablet is still within the 1 year warranty, i have only been able to use it for a few months and yet i am now expected to pay for its replacement. Right now i am not sure of what further steps i can take but i have instructed for them not to send it back to me because i honestly do not think it's fair for me to be stuck with something that is fully paid for but cannot be used because it's dead.

Good day Londiwe,

We trust this email finds you well.

Please kindly note that we have received communication from the relevant personnel at the store(Makro Springfield) and they have advised that they have reviewed the events :

There was a time whereby the unit was faulty, it was determined that the charging port was damaged. The warranty does not cover the customer for physical damage on the product, this is as per CPA. The supplier out of goodwill had assisted you and repaired this at no charge.

The second time the unit was faulty, it was determined that again the charging port was damaged and unrepairable. The supplier out of goodwill offered a swop out for a new unit if you paid in R900 . The supplier was kind enough to collect the unit

In both these instances it was discovered that the course was due to negligent and damaged the product and as per CPA the warranty falls away and therefore you are liable for the damages.

Please note that the store will not be able to assist in this regard, and therefore there is a quote that you will need to pay to complete the repairs.

Please advise if you will continue with the quotation?

We looking forward to your response.

Once again, we apologise for the inconveniences caused throughout your journey with us.

We hope the above is in order. Warm Regards

Greetings.

Firstly I’d like to bring to your attention that the first time I brought the tablet back for repairs it had a problem with the touch pad it was not usable at all, the tablet was charging with no issues and the charging slot and the charger had no visible damages. So what you guys are saying is not true.

Secondly, I was only told when I launched the 2nd complain that I was given a replacement tablet the 1st one was not fixed. When it was delivered back to me it had the same small scratches on the screen as the one I had returned to you that is why I assumed it was the original one.

I still maintain that the tablet should be fixed by you as it is still under the 1 year warranty, if you fail to do so then I would like to have my money back please. I am tired of this back and forth with Makro, it has only been 5 months since I bought this item from you and in this short space of time I have had to return it to you twice for repairs, I am even beginning to suspect that the tablet was not brand new to begin with, you sold me a 2nd hand tablet and that is why it has so many problems. My sister has the exact same tablet and hers was purchased in July at Vodacom and it has no problem at all.

My final word to you is that you should either return the tablet to me fixed or give me a refund. I will not be coming to your store to fetch it because it makes no sense for me to come there to get something that I paid a full amount for which is now dead within just 5 months of purchasing. Lastly, I bought my tablet online and paid for the delivery because I had no wish to come to your store as we were under lockdown which is still ongoing up to this date so I don’t understand why you make it sound like you were doing me a favour by having it picked up from my house for repairs.

Regards

I now want to find out the who I can report Makro to because I am honestly fed up with them and their dishonesty. This attempt by them of trying to ****** more money form me was the final straw for me, they have even gone as far as trying to have the dead Tablet delivered to me when i clearly stated that they should not return it if it's not fixed.
