Absolutely disgusted

Absolutely disgusted at Makro's tactics and how they are *****ing from their customers. My mom and I were in the Silver Lakes store today to purchase a Playstation 5 console, and which was supposed to be a pleasant experience, left us utterly disgusted. Yesterday I was in the same store, where the PS5 with 2 controllers was advertised at the normal price of R13,999. Today I went back with my mom to purchase it, as she also qualifies for a discount which we wanted to utilize. When I got there, it was still priced at R13,999, but highlighted as a promotional price with a purple price sticker. I know that items that are marked as promotional items do not qualify for the discount, which is understandable, but technically this was not a promotion, just loaded as one a day before the promotion starts. The sales lady informed me that you now get a free game with it. I did not want the game, and only wanted the console and 2 controllers. After lengthy discussions with staff who are not very helpful and unpleasant to deal with and seeing that I am not going to get anywhere with them, I decided that I will take it in any case as I do not want to waste any more time or have the time to go anywhere else, only now to find out that the actual promotion with the stupid game starts tomorrow 13th August so they told me to come back tomorrow if I want to. However, the promotional date on the purple sticker clearly states that the promotional period starts 12/08 to 20/08. According to the sales lady, it is standard practice for Makro to advertise an item as a promotional item, prior to it actually going on promotion. Obviously this item has already been loaded as a promotional item, although it is the exact same offering as the day before and at the exact same price which wasn't a promotion. This is also clearly visible on the website as being advertised as a promotion, although the day before, it wasn't. This practice is sickening, and clearly they are taking advantage of their customers and *****ing from them as you know that most customers will come and shop on the Saturday, thinking they are getting a good deal, but then it is actually just misrepresented to them. This is totally disgusting and I totally regret making this purchase. I will definitely not support your business going forward.
