Don’t buy from Makro online- they don’t return faulty items!

I bought 2 duvet inners for my childrens beds from Makro online. After 4 weeks, I noticed the inner no longer had any stuffing at the head of the duvet- all the stuffing was bunched at the bottom. I requested a return. Makro ignored me. We then emailed them to ask what was happening and they then needed photo’s showing the damage. After sending the photos, I received an email from them stating the return was declined due to “hygienic reasons”. After reading their return policy which stated that they would return defective items within 6 months of purchase and that only mattress protectors were not returnable for the reasons stated, I decided to phone. After sitting on hold for 30 minutes, an operator finally listened to my story and said he would find the person that had declined my return and be back with me shortly. I waited on hold for a further 20 minutes only for him to come back and give me the same story. I then asked to speak to the supervisor. I was on hold so long, I gave up and decided to try again the next day. The next day I again sat on hold for nearly 30 minutes before I was helped. I immediately asked to speak to the supervisor who eventually agreed to speak to me after lots of screaming and shouting. She told me the same nonsense story to which I said to her that hygienic reasons or not the product is defective so they have to return it. She said the suppliers of the product refused the return and makro was just the reseller. She then made a **** out of herself by asking me if I would be willing to take a replacement product. I had already had to buy new duvets to replace those, so I said “no I want my money”. To which she assured me she would contact headoffice and get this sorted out. This was in August and it is now the end of October. I’m still waiting. Don’t ever buy from Makro online! I will certainly never make that mistake again.
