Worst Food and Service (Ballroom 7 November)

We had our wedding on 7 November 2021.

The venue itself is stunning and ideal for photographs, however that is where it ends.

When we booked our wedding, there was a promotion where you could upgrade your meal plan at no extra cost, which we took advantage of. However, when we received the quotation, we were charged for the upgraded meal plan, and when we questioned this, the promotion was suddenly deleted from their website link.

We were quoted and paid for the decor and bouquet, but when we received our billing, an additional R4.5K had been added to the bill which we had to run around and sort out.

For starters, we were charged for jugs of cucumber water (tap water @ R18 per jug) for the tables, but the water we received had no hint of the cucumber for which we had previously paid.

The kids' meals were chicken nuggets, which were most likely prepared prior to lockdown and then heated and provided at our wedding. It was not eaten by any of the children, and full dishes were returned to the kitchen.

The halaal meal included overcooked, rubbery fish with charred skin that was unpalatable, and the beef lasagne was a two-ingredient lasagne consisting of dry mince and a layer of lasagne sheets. There was not even a hint of spice in the dish. The vegetables were overdone and chewy, and the dessert, which was dry and tasteless, was most likely also prepared prior to lockdown. This was such a waste because again full plates were returned to the kitchen because the food was inedible.

On the day of the wedding, our wedding coordinator was incredibly nasty and unhelpful, even giving the guests dirty looks which was very upsetting and I would not recommend this place to anybody.
