Pretty gardens and horrifying service

Not sure how this venue was rated 4 stars as their service is pathetic to say the least . Being the groom's sister it's so important to ensure a beautiful and smooth ceremony. But on a hot summer's day to serve my guests warm bottled refreshments throughout the ceremony and during supper is unacceptable. Our agreed food menu was completely wrong. They served mushroom sauce to my guests as a main course ... yet we agreed to mushroom alfredo. Upon the food tasting , we requested falafels and they served something we clearly asked them not to serve as it tasted bad . Upon checking in to our rooms we were given a room with dirty walls , as the bridal suit was being cleaned and we could not use it until 10 , ironically at 10 the room was filthy with dust and dirt on the floor , as you can imagine, being upset due to the initial dirty room and finding the bridal suit in that condition left us infuriated. The lighting in the rooms are absolutely mortifying. This is a wedding venue where brides pay thousands of rands for make up and hair and the professionals aren't even able to do the their jobs properly . Today we had a celebrity make up artist and hair stylist and they were terribly disappointed at the state of the rooms . Guest bookings are pathetic, people shouldn't even waste their time . Rather spend 300 more and book at a reputable place near by .

Makiti has the most beautiful gardens but I will ensure that everyone I know , knows what a terrible experience we had . Honestly having a bride cry on her wedding day isn't ideal and sorely heartbreaking. This bridal couple looked gorgeous and thanks to supportive and understanding family their day was made easier after a terrible and distasteful experience.

Makitis service is rated as a zero , their attitudes are rated as zero and their accommodation is definitely a zero . A 1 star rating given to the dj, barman and supervisor of the night who tried her best to make things bearable for everyone. The wedding planners attention to detail is so far from the weddings she plans, she messed up on so many occasions even mentioning that she cannot work on weekends to meet and got the entire menu wrong. She was extremely unhelpful and due to the big risk shes taking with planning one of the most important days in couples lives , she should really try to do better or atleast change jobs.
