Great service and a lovely day for us

Wedding was on 31 Aug 2019 at the Ballroom Venue.

After reading the reviews on here l and my wife were worried that our day might be a shambles. If we had seen these reviews before we booked the venue for our wedding we probably wouldn't have done so. It is fortunate that by the time we checked the reviews we had already paid the deposit.

We decided to send an email to them highlighting our concerns and we promptly got a response from Dedere from Makiti reassuring us that they will do our best to make our day special. And special they did indeed make it.

The wedding coordinator was Angelique and she kept in constant contact with us and was willing to reschedule the appointment when we couldn't make it on the initially agreed date. Makiti were extremely understanding at every possible turn.

We were providing most of the decor ourselves and we weren't charged for this whilst most venues will. On the night before the wedding my wife and her bridal crew were extremely late for check in into their accommodation but Makiti did whatever they could to still check them in despite them arriving way after the 7pm check in time.

On the day of the wedding, 21 Aug 2019, we arrived at 8am for our wedding at 4pm. Since we had provided our own decor it was our responsibility to put it out but to my amazement the Makiti employees were already putting out the decor. They were willing to listen and accommodate us. They even offered advice on how best to set things up where they felt things could be improved.

The wedding coordinator, Angelique, was very patient and she knew what she was doing. She kept me calm even when my wife was an hour and a half late, LOL.

The food was great, the drinks were served on time and by 2 lovely gentlemen at their nice bar at the back of the venue. None of my guests had any issues with either the food, the venue or the employees. On this occasion Makiti extremely impressed. I had booked accommodation for about 40 of my guests and they loved the venue and the breakfast in the morning.

Makiti also returned our entire breakage deposit and l know some venues will invent a story to keep some or all of your breakage deposit.

The venue itself was great and clean and you could see they had made an effort to clean it and make it presentable. The restaurant manageress, a lovely lady, gave my guests a great experience on the morning after the wedding. Even when l couldn't find the breakfast slip she was accommodating. Your service as great.
