Appalling Attitude

Last year my wife and I attended a wedding at Makiti.The experience was not enjoyable on many levels.

The wedding reception hall was visibly poorly maintained.There was an aloof attitude by the catering staff throughout the evening and when they felt they had had enough of this Black wedding they switched off the lights.

About 3 weeks ago I attended another wedding at Makiti where my band performed.We liaised closely with the bridal couple and venue representative Angelique was assigned to wedding planning.

On the day of the wedding Angelique was day off and we had to contend with a couple that opened the venue and supervised the setup.They sat at the back of the venue at about 12:00 already enjoying beers.

The same non caring unhelpful attitude was again on display.Lights were switched off when the staff decided it was going home time and we were forced to pack up our equipment in the dark.We subsequently missed 2 speaker poles in the dark and the next week proceeded to try and find them.Called the venue and was told nothing was found laying about.The brides mom visited the venue to see if she could check properly and she wasn’t allowed access to the venue.

The venue Makiti needs to get their act together. You treat people with such disrespect once you’ve taken the money. I still don’t understand why our black communities still support these businesses.
