WORSE SWIMMING SCHOOL IN BENONI

Making waves swimming school is by far the WORSE place to take your child to learn how to swim. The new teacher since the owner passed away, is not only more concerned about keeping her hair dry (and chatting to the other teacher in the pool) rather than to show kids the correct method, she pulls their floaty out from under them if they dont get the concept right. Today she made a child get out of the pool after they were playing, waiting for her to return with the other student(take note, 1 teacher, trying to teach 3 kids how to swim) making them sit outside of the pool. The poor child was getting so cold asking if they can at least sit sit inside the water and she refused to teach them for the remaining 10min of the lesson..... Probably why after months of everything weekend going for lessons my child still cant swim. Will definitely not recommended this place to any parent wanting to teach their child how to swim.

We are deeply saddened by this review. 
 
None of the concerns you have listed above have been brought to any of the senior or management staff; who is on site and on pool deck every lesson. 
 
Children are only asked to sit on the step or outside the pool if they are being a danger to themselves and to others. Water safety is the most important aspect of the swimming and is a high priority in all our lesson plans. 
 
Upon investigating the issues raised and enquiring with the teacher concerned the following was noted: 
·         The twins were being unsafe and endangering themselves and the other student in the class. They were going under the water and pulling each other’s legs and hitting each other under the water. 
·         The teacher has never pulled out a floaty from under the boys, however the teacher battles to get them to hold and keep holding the teaching aids and to follow instructions. 
·         Other teachers in the pool; including the senior teacher; have also had to speak to the boys about listening and following instructions. 
 
We at Making Waves are very family and problem solving orientated and would love to have a meeting with yourself and your husband to discuss your concerns and find a way forward together.
