This Mahindra Umhlanga Branch is disgusting they are very quick to sell you a vehicle but do not perform the necessary quality control checks and sells a vehicle that is not roadworthy. The vehicle (Mahindra S11 Double Cab, was delivered on 6 January 2026. Within days, multiple material defects were identified, including steering shudder, brake noise, RPM surging, drivetrain irregularities, door misalignment and difficulty opening, cooling concerns, and rust corrosion affecting the entire load bin as well as corrosion under the rear windscreen area, and on the spring by the chassis. Despite repair attempts, material issues persisted. I formally rejected the vehicle under Sections 55 and 56 of the Consumer Protection Act. Supporting documents attached include job cards, email correspondence, photographs, and confirmation of vehicle return. 2. Written sequence of events and current faults • 6 January 2026 – Vehicle delivered – brand new • 10 January 2026 (approx. 200 km) – Defects first reported. • January–early February 2026 – Multiple dealership visits and repair attempts. • 6 February 2026 – Vehicle returned and formally rejected under CPA. At the time of rejection, unresolved concerns included steering shudder, RPM surging, door alignment and operation, and corrosion issues. 3. Were concerns brought to the dealer’s attention? Yes. All defects were reported to the selling dealer within days of delivery and well within six months. Proof of communication is attached. 4. Current kilometre reading 1,973 km at the time of return on 6 February 2026. 5. Where is the asset currently? The vehicle is in the possession of Halfway Mahindra Umhlanga following formal return. This branch was too quick to sell the product to the customer and the quality control past the vehicle like this. This branches a total disgrace it’s been my third month and I’m paying for a vehicle that I do not have in my position. The CEO of Mahindra South Africa Mr Gupta replies to my concerns and says yes we can fix your vehicle send it back to the assembly line secondly we can exchange your vehicle but with a depreciation and third we can give you a refund with a depreciation and according to the consumer protection act this is wrong. In conclusion I will advise everyone to not purchase this brand Mahindra, if you’re looking for reliability and a piece of mind.
