On October 6, 2023, I bought a Mahindra XUV300 W6 in Pretoria North, assured it was a new 2023 model with no issues or prior accidents, and easy to resell. I was severely misled. The car is a 2022 model, missing the updated emblem. Undisclosed pre-existing issues include a faulty boot, a loud engine tapping sound (diagnosed as faulty stabilizer links), and a different colored front bumper indicating prior undisclosed repair work. The odometer also read an improbable zero at purchase. These misrepresentations and undisclosed repairs have significantly depreciated the vehicle's resale value by R49,000, contradicting initial assurances. The dealership has denied fault, but their dishonesty in this sale is evident.
