Very dissapointed
My girlfriend and I were at Monte on the 22nd of October. We were ****ing time while waiting for a movie we have been dying to see, we decided to go play games at the Magic Company while we waited for our show to start. I was carrying my black sling bag, I took it off an hung it over the back of the bike and proceeded to sit on the strap of the bag. In those 2 minutes of the game someone had come up behind me and took my bag. I immediately went to the security to ask if they had cameras and asked to see the footage. Now correct me if I'm wrong, this is a kiddies area, so if it was my child that went missing, would I have also been told that I am not entitled to see the footage of the cameras? There are two very distinct cameras facing the bikes we were playing on, and I was told that nothing could be seen on the camera footage and that I have no right to see the footage? That is my stuff, I recently moved to Johannesburg from Cape Town, I had to replace all my cards etc, and I am being told that I have to go to Cape Town to replace my learners. The phone's insurance on my side was not yet active so now I have no phone and had to replace everything, and you are telling me that you won't take any responsibility and won't let me see the footage? There are at the very least another 6 - 8 cameras I counted excluding the ones facing the bikes. So are these cameras only for show? Or do they actually work? Further more I was told that you have signage on all games stating that you have to watch your own personal belongings, this too is a lie. We went to Monte on Saturday to inspect where the cameras are and where the signage is, and there aren't any. I feel that the very least the company could have done is replace my phone. And maybe take some sort of responsibility for the lack of security and action the company has taken. This is extremely disturbing, if this was my child what would have been done then? I think I will take this to social media, this is not right.
