Disappointing Experience – Beware Before Booking at Madam and Sir Florida Road

We made a booking at Madam and Sir on Florida Road for the 10th of May, placing our inquiry on the 8th of April. By the 14th of April, we had paid a R2000 deposit and sent through the proof of payment. Unfortunately, our experience quickly turned sour.

Despite several follow-ups, the management – particularly the foreign national manager – failed to acknowledge receipt of our payment for days. We were left in the dark, repeatedly sending messages with no response. Due to the lack of communication and growing concerns over their reliability, we made the decision to cancel the booking.

We immediately requested a refund, which they verbally agreed to. We then booked with Dukkah, who were far more professional, responsive, and attentive to our needs – a complete contrast to Madam and Sir.

Since the 17th of April, we’ve been pleading for our refund so we could use it as a deposit at the new venue. The manager kept making empty promises, claiming he would “speak to his boss,” and that they would send us the proof of refund – which we are still waiting for. The baby shower has already passed, and we remain out of pocket.

This has been an extremely disappointing and stressful experience. I would strongly caution others before considering Madam and Sir. In our view, their conduct has been *********, unprofessional, and completely *************. Proceed with extreme caution.
