Bad Place to book for a function

We made a booking for a baby shower and suddenly we saw their status was written 'Temporarily closed', no communication to us when we tried to communicate with them enquiring if they will be opened by our function date , no response and now we have requested a refund so that we can book somewhere else, they are giving us run around. How do you accept deposit when you know you might not deliver and this is a woman establishment, very appalling behaviour.
