<p>I bought recycled fork lift batteries for a household solar system with a one year warranty and a life span of 5 years from Thys Volschenk. After 3 months, it became clear that they were definately not up to scratch . </p> <p> I contacted him and he agreed to replace them. This took me approximately a further three months of constant nagging and leaving me in the position of having to use a generator on a daily basis, costing me fortunes in petrol. He eventually pitched up with only 9 batteries out of the 18 he had to replace. He then basically said I must see how I do with them and he would come back to replace the rest. He said that the batteries were probably failing, due to the fact that I live on a farm in the mountains and that he'd probably driven too fast along a fairly bad road, possibly damaging the batteries.</p> <p>After replacing the worst of my batteries with the 9 he'd brought with him, I contacted him, to let him know that I'd definitely need the other 9 replaced. He promised that he would do it within the month which never materialised. I contacted him again and he made further promises. This went on and on, month after month, leaving me in my current position... on a farm with no power! I must also just add, that each time I left him a message, he failed to return my call unless I actually got through to him. Also, all calls that he said he would return, he never did and there were numerous of them. He now avoids my calls and I cannot reach him at all.</p> <p>Here I sit, after spending approx. R 20 000.00 with him, left with no power and looking like I'm going to have to buy new batteries through someone else. </p> <p> </p>
