A Tale of Woe: Our Unforgettable Stay at Mabula Time Share
Dear *********** Management,
I hope this review finds its way to someone who can at least pretend to care. We recently had the pleasure (read: absolute nightmare) of staying at Modjadji unit 42 – supposedly the crown jewel of your establishment. Well, color us unimpressed!
Upon arrival, we were greeted by the charming sight of a makeshift shade, which I can only assume was fashioned from the finest doggy shading net money can buy. Who needs a picturesque view when you can bask in the glory of half-hearted attempts at outdoor comfort, right? And let's not even get started on the braai area – a masterpiece of questionable design choices, complete with a mystery step that serves no purpose other than to trip unsuspecting guests.
But wait, there's more! The pièce de résistance was discovering the broken light at the braai, a delightful touch of danger with wires hanging out like party streamers. Because who doesn't love a DIY electrical job on their vacation agenda? And let's not overlook the scenic view, or lack thereof, thanks to the jungle that's taken over your so-called vista. It's like a safari, but without the charm or the animals.
Inside the unit, we were treated to a kitchen that was probably new in the previous century. The fridge's lackadaisical attempt at cooling was almost as impressive as the bathrooms' avant-garde approach to mold cultivation. And don't even get me started on the mismatched tiles and the sliding door masquerading as a shower entrance – it's like modern art, but with more mildew.
But the real kicker? The cherry on top of this steaming pile of disappointment? The complete absence of water upon our arrival. Because nothing says "luxury getaway" like dehydration and existential dread. I can only assume the plastic containers left behind were your subtle way of saying, "Welcome to our little slice of paradise – now go fetch your own damn water!"
And as if that wasn't enough, our relocation to unit BH5 was the icing on the cake – or it would have been, if the power hadn't decided to take an impromptu vacation of its own. But fear not, for we were blessed with the fragrance of a fridge that seemed to have a personal vendetta against olfactory senses. It's a miracle my family's food survived the encounter, though I can't say the same for my appetite.
And let's not forget the stellar customer service experience! From the reception's blatant disregard for our relocation to the safari mishap that left us questioning our very existence – it was like a comedy of errors, only without the punchline.
But perhaps the pièce de résistance of our stay was the death-defying obstacle course disguised as a walkway near the pool, where my wife narrowly avoided a broken ankle. Because nothing says "fun for the whole family" like medical bills and a lawsuit waiting to happen.
And just when we thought things couldn't possibly get worse, we were treated to a delightful encore of water shortages, power outages, and microwave malfunctions. It's like you took a checklist of basic amenities and gleefully threw it out the window, laughing maniacally as you watched our misery unfold.
In conclusion, our stay at Mabula was an experience I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Congratulations on achieving the dubious honor of providing the worst vacation of my life. I trust you'll promptly refund our money, though I won't hold my breath.
