Rude director and unfair policy changes
I am lodging this complaint against Maboloka Funeral Services and Tombstone, based in Mokopane, Limpopo, for unfair treatment and refusal to honor a funeral policy. Our late father joined Maboloka Funeral Services in 2018 and has been a member in good standing for years, consistently paying his monthly premiums. Due to being hospitalized, he unfortunately fell behind on two months of payments. Despite his long-standing membership, the funeral parlour has now refused to bury him.
Key issues of concern are: 1. Unfair Policy Changes – No new contract or updated rules regarding fines and skipped premiums were ever provided to him in writing. we requested the policies and rules in the morning however they could not provide policies. Five hours later when we can back there was paper on the notice board with the rules displayed after we raised our issue. The stamp and date were backdated, This is misleading and unfair to long-standing members. 2. Lack of Compassion and Professionalism – When we attempted to discuss the matter, the director (Mr Macheke) was rude and dismissive, showing no empathy for our grieving family. 3. Refusal of Service – Despite years of contributions, the parlour is refusing to honor their responsibility to provide funeral services. This leaves us stranded and unable to bury my father with dignity.
This conduct is in violation of basic consumer rights and undermines trust in funeral insurance providers. We urgently request to: • Investigate the conduct of Maboloka Funeral Services and their policy practices. • Compel them to provide the funeral services my father has been paying for since 2018. • Ensure that families are treated with dignity, fairness, and compassion during times of loss.
We are seeking urgent intervention as we intend to bury our father on Friday.
