Atrocious behaviour from staff

17 July 2017 I visited your pharmacy (MKEM ) just before 10pm, I was “assisted” by the most **********ic person I’ve ever come across Johan . As I write this I even feel like balling my eyes out because of how any and undignified I was made to feel by your staff member.

I came into the Pharmacy for a morning adter pill, he then asked then last I has taken one and I said three weeks ago. He proceeded to raise his voice and speak down to me telling me that the pill was not a mean of contraceptives. I then agreed that understood. He then sarcastically said “you people” seem to think that this is the injection. Why do you not take the other means of contraception etc, I understood all this. However, it’s the manner in which he stoke to me that appalled me. In the dispensary filled with people my private business as being discussed and I was getting a scolding from him. Furthermore, I’m not certain what “you People “ means .

This Johan then screamed at me when I told him that I didn’t appreciate the manner in which he spoke to me in, he then said he refuses to help me any further and the box and my medical aid card just there. I then asked whether he would give me the pill or not, he yelled “it’s up to you whether you want to fall pregnant or not” Now are these the values that you Pharmacy practices?

I took the box and when to the cashiers to pay, that is when he followed me to aggravate me even more. He hurled that I was being childish, and that he was not afraid of me etc. None of your staff members tried to defuse the situation as we began to have a screaming match. Everyone stood by and let this man treat me like this.

I walked away feeling like less of a human being, my private life hurled all over your pharmacy. Is this Ethical ? according to the Pharmacy Act 53 of 1974, it is not.

There are many situation that lead up to needing the pill, what if I had been ***ually abused, we live in south Africa after all. Would I have ( God forbid )been made a spectacle the way I was. Why was I not offered the notepad with the questionnaire for the administration of this pill
