BAD CRAFTSMANSHIP

On the 22nd of November 2023, I received a quote from Mr. Allan van Schalkwyk for repairs and painting of the entire outside of our property at 25 Gerrit Maritz drive in Monument Krugersdorp. See quotation attached. After communications with him, and him visiting our home to access the work to be done, we excepted the quote. We paid the deposit and work started a week after the payment reflected in his account. I communicated with him via Whats app, which I still have all the contents of, and paid the fees according to his quote stipulations. I sent numerous whats apps to him to come and complete the job, but to no avail. He constantly tells me that he awaits money to come and fix everything and give the roof the second coat. We paid him in full after he said the job is done. The job was NOT done properly, and I requested him to come and fix and paint the roof again but to no avail. To date: • The roof is STILL not fixed and painted a second coat. • There is consequential damage to the facer boards and other places because of the poor workmanship. • The guy who painted the roof’s daughter (age between 13 and 14) helped him and I queried it, for 1) she is a minor working on a roof without ANY harness or protection and 2) She have NO experience in the job, how can it be allowed? I was told that it was the painter’s problem as he told him that it is not allowed but he left it there and she kept on painting for 2 or 3 days. I sent him a What's App messages, he read it but does not response. My questions are: 1. Are the businesses, registered as on the quote I received a Reg number is visible. Reg No: *** 2. What am I to do to get him to adhere to commitment? I will NEVER recommend him to ANYBODY. He is NOT a man of his word. His work is of VERY low standard. Spent ALL the money paid to him but does not finish his jobs properly.
