Lynn & Main Attorneys — Your Continued Failure to Respond Is Unacceptable

I am extremely dissatisfied with the manner in which Lynn & Main Attorneys have handled my request regarding the prescription of my Standard Bank Revolving Credit Plan (RCP).

I have contacted you repeatedly requesting a clear written outcome and the relevant prescription letter. Your continued failure to respond to my emails or meaningfully engage with my complaints is completely unacceptable.

This is not a complicated request. I am asking for a definitive answer on the prescription status of an account that was handed to you by Standard Bank.

What makes your refusal to deal with this matter even more concerning is that Standard Bank has already recognised and prescribed another account where the last payment was made on the exact same day as the RCP account you are refusing to prescribe.

That raises a very simple question: what is the basis for treating these two accounts differently?

If you believe the RCP has not prescribed, then I expect you to explain, in writing, the specific basis for that position. If you believe it has prescribed, then issue the prescription letter without further delay.

What is particularly disappointing is that, unlike a bank such as Standard Bank, a law firm does not face the same direct customer-service and institutional pressures that a bank does. That does not mean that you can simply ignore a customer’s legitimate request and refuse to communicate.

You are acting on behalf of Standard Bank, and your failure to respond reflects directly on both your firm and the bank that appointed you.

I have no interest in being sent back to Standard Bank when you are the attorneys currently handling the account. I have already approached you and given you the opportunity to address this matter, yet you have chosen not to respond.

Silence is not an answer.

I therefore require Lynn & Main to provide a clear written position on the prescription of the RCP and the prescription letter where applicable, rather than continuing to ignore my correspondence.

If your position is that the account has not prescribed, say so and provide the basis for that position. If it has prescribed, provide the letter.

I expect an actual response this time — not silence, not a generic acknowledgement, and not another attempt to pass me back to Standard Bank.
