The Staff Will Rob You

So my girls and I had drinks at this place and I had arranged for my boyfriend to come pick me up later. Upon his arrival, he decided to wait for me at the bar while I wrapped things up. I was taking long so ended up ordering 3 Black Labels in total and PAID THESE IN CASH as I had his card with me. After settling my own bill with the girls (using his card) I fetched him by the bar and we headed out.

When we got to the exit 1 bouncer refused us exit claiming that my boyfriend had to settle his bill at the bar. He called Patrick, the barmen on duty that night, and 1 more bouncer, so there were 3 staff members in total. They gave us a bill worth R455 containing (Coronas, Strawberry Daiquiri, Orange Juice, Savannas and Heinekens), things that he does not even drink, but seeing that he was under the influence, they pinned this on us regardless. The threats were ongoing as they pushed him around and threatened to man-handle him. At this point it was evident that this was planned and its what they do to their unsuspecting customers. Things were getting heated so I decided to pay the bill with his card that I had with me, and thought we would handle this the following day with the manager.

The following morning Sunday 14 February, we went straight to the manager Sandra and explained what had transpired. She assured us she would inquire with Patrick the barmen as soon as he reported for duty 3pm. She took our slip (after we had taken a picture) and said she would call us back at 3pm. She came back with the most twisted response I have ever heard. She said the slip that we gave her matched the pay-point slip that we had paid so all her records were balanced. She sent us another customer's bill (with an unknown customer name called Boi), with different contents worth R400, and claimed that was the actual bill that we owed. She said they made a mistake with the additional R55 on this new slip,, and further advised that she would only refund us R55 of the R455 that we were ****** of. There was no further interest on this matter from her side. Nor was there solid proof that this newly generated slip was indeed ours.

It was clearly evident that this is what they all do here. Very disappointing behavior from such a lovely joint. Instead of protecting their customers, drunk or sober, the staff will take advantage of you themselves.

I do not wish for anyone to be taken advantage this way, it is not a good feeling at all. Therefore, I edge each and everyone of you to NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. They have no sense of customer protection and your safety is definitely not guaranteed. STAY WAY.
