********* Bus Services Company
On Wednesday evening 25th Nov' 21, myself and colleague bought an over the counter ticket. With the sum of R550 per person. Which was from Johannesburg station to Cape Town We were transported to the bus via a private vehicle and got it on the road. We boarded Wezwe Coaches at Grassmere.
The driver's of the bus wasn't of the friendly kind in the beginning, however the bus itself was one old coach and had gearbox issues from the word go. As a passenger one would have thought, that the driver's are professional and well skilled in their job. But with the trip in its manner one could see that none had much knowledge or experience.
When we got to Ventersburg, the issues started with the bus. That was our first pitstop or refreshing point. When it was time to leave the driver had to top up oil because of a severe oil leak, then came the issue of the bus didn't want to engage into 1st gear or any other gear except reverse gear. We had to stand another hour in time delay due to this.
As we were waiting for a breakdown to come, the driver tried again to engage gear, by luck it then started engaging gears again. We left thereafter to Cape Town. They drove ok to as far as Beaufort West, where we had our second refreshing stop. Low and behold when leaving Beaufort for Cape Town, we got pulled off by traffic officer for routine check and was surprised by the bus being impounded due to no valid license nor operator's permit.
This was one huge setback and most uncomfortable situation to all of us on the coach, as we were escorted to the impound area outside Beaufort. The driver was fined and had to appear at court for the release of the coach, however weren't allowed any passengers other than the crew. We waited for response from the owners , which already took hours.
By the time they came with response many have already taking the initiative to hike back into town seeking alternative means to reach their destination. The driver spoke of another bus that was broken down in three sisters is getting an replacement bus , so that those passengers could be taken to Johannesburg and the coach will be fixed by mechanic's, that will insure that the coach will be good for us to be transported to Cape Town with. But could not give us a time when it would be ready. Being sitting and waiting for hours already, myself and colleague decided to hike as well, because we had other obligations and time was against us.
It costed us a further R700 to get into Cape Town Thursday evening at 18h00. I however contacted the bus company as aforesaid, the next day from whom we've boarded and the receptionist, to whom I explained the unexceptional mishaps of my trip, told me that the manager will be making contact with me with my concerns. I am sad to say, that they carry no pure business Ethics in their conduct of service in customer satisfaction. I have contacted the bus service again today and yet again I was brushed off with the same news of a manager who will be contacting me.
Thus my REVIEW and RATING towards this Bus Service Company, to be the worst I've ever experienced in their conduct and manner towards serving community as commuter serves. I will not recommend them at any given time, as it is clear that they do not value the lives of people firstly, by boarding civilians onto a vehicle they know is unfit by law, it is an offense. Secondly have no ethics or empathy to the situation and circumstances they caused to many of us as commuters.
It is Sad to witness that the greed for money is greater than the moralship of people's lives. Business maybe business, but it surely cannot thrive by the blood of others.
Clearly shows ********* business qualities from this establishment what so ever, has no good fruits.
