Horrid Experience R300 for a pasta dish

HORRID EXPERIENCE - Lupa Osteria Suncoast On sunday 31 March my cousin from JHB decided to treat my grandparents to a meal at Lupa. My cousin decided to have the veg ravioli but wanted to add meat to the meal. The waiter advised that she could add a steak to her which she agreed on. Upon receiving the bill, we noticed that the bill was someone elses bill. Eventually we received the correct bill. When checking the bill, we noticed that we were charged for 6 meals when there was only 5 of us. On inspection, we were charged for the entire steak meal which was R185 plus her ravioli meal which was R100. We called the waiter and he advised that he would deduct the sides from the steak meal. He came back a short while later saying that he could not deduct sides and we should subtract the sides ourselves and pay the balance-and he would have to pay the shortfall. My cousin did not feel comfortable doing that and decided to call the manager. My cousin and her husband both spoke to the manager and she said that this waiter "does his own thing". Being a customer i feel that the manager should not have mentioned that and should have dealt with the issue at hand in a more professional manner. She also advised that she could not change the charge on the bill as that is "how they charge when adding sides to a meal" Not wanting to cause a scene, my cousin paid the bill. None of us will be visiting this branch again. I have been to the Westville branch a couple times and experienced nothing like this. The manager made no attempt to rectify the situation and has not lost customers. I will not recommend anyone to visit this branch if this is how they deal with these kind of situations
