WHATSAPP **** BY LUNO

I got an email from Olivia Mandela who said she works for Luno, she told me that I can invest R1 000. 00 and get back R10 000.00 in few days. There were also vidoes of people testifying that they got profits on their investments.I was reluctand to do that, she persuaded me to take the risk. I did pay R1 000.00, next I was told that I have made a profit of R15 500.00 , but I had to pay R3 500. to get the R15 500, which did not make sense to me, I thought they would take theR3 500, from the profits I received. Olivia again persuaded me to pay which I did, She assured me that this is the last money I will have to pay, I will definetley get the R15 500. To my suprise, the next day I was told to pay R7 800.00 in order to get the R15 500.00, which I refused and I asked her for all the money that I paid, she kept on telling me that I must pay what I am asked, I told her that she never told me that I will have to paying all these monies from the beginning, she only told me to pay R 1 000.00 and get R10 00.00. In the end I did not get any money, and she did not even refund my R3 500,000

Hi Thembakazi,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention and we are so sorry to hear that this has happened to you.

Unfortunately, as the cryptocurrency industry continues to grow, so does the ******** industry in similar proportions. It's important to keep in mind that Luno does not work with any other trading or investment schemes. We don't offer investment or financial advice, and we don't have any traders working for us on social media (such as Whatsapp, Facebook, Telegram or Instagram, etc.)

Always keep these points in mind if you're unsure whether you're interacting with the real Luno or not:

1) We don't give financial or trading advice and we'll not manage your account for you.
2) We also don't advertise guaranteed profits. Anyone doing this and claiming to be from Luno (or partnering with Luno) is trying to **** you.
3) We will never contact you via Social media asking you to send funds and promising huge returns within a short period of time.

We don't want anything like this to happen to you again in the future, so if you'd like more information about what ****s in the cryptocurrency space usually look like, please visit our Help Centre here.

Lastly, if you need some more information or would like to have this investigated further, kindly contact our support team at https://www.luno.com/help/en/tickets/new?category_id=30
