Pathetic Airline

Lufthansa Airlines has completely wasted my time and caused unnecessary frustration. On December 13th, 2024, I needed to travel from OR Tambo International Airport to Manchester Airport for an urgent meeting. I went to their desk because it wasn’t busy, and the staff told me they couldn’t help me in person but that I should call a number to book online. I followed their instructions, gave my card details, and was told my ticket would be emailed within 5 minutes. Of course, that never happened. I waited, called back, but the desk had already closed at 6pm. Fine, I thought, maybe I’ll get my ticket in the morning once the money comes out of my account.

At 9:30 pm, I received a bank alert that the payment had been processed. I checked my email constantly, but no ticket came through. The next morning, I called them and was told they hadn’t received the money, so no ticket was issued. I went to the bank, and they confirmed the payment was pending and would reflect soon. The bank even gave me an authorization code to pass on to Lufthansa, which would allow them to see the payment and issue the ticket.

When I called Lufthansa again, they refused to take the code and insisted on taking my card details for a new transaction. Every consultant I spoke to was rude and didn’t listen to a single word I said. They were more interested in getting more money from me than helping resolve the issue. It was clear that they couldn’t care less about customers or their issues.

After hours of this back-and-forth nonsense, I was forced to book a flight with Virgin Atlantic. They provided excellent service, and the process was smooth. Lufthansa, on the other hand, left me stranded and has continued to ignore me as I fight for a refund. Their staff is ***********, and they clearly don’t care about anything but making money. Even if their tickets were R5, I would never trust this airline again. I wouldn't recommend Lufthansa to anyone – their service is appalling, and they will just take your money and leave you in the lurch.
