A couple of months ago, I walked in to get an ID photo taken. I was summarily dismissed by the owner who said “The equipment is not working”. When asked when I could come back, he merely said “I don’t know” and told me to go do Postnet in the nearby shopping centre. I wanted his services specifically because my employer used them. I told my white employer about this and he went and had his photo taken immediately. Though subtle, the rVcism I experienced is enough for me to right this as a black person. He had been raclst as I entered the door as if to say I don’t belong there. And yes, use PostNet instead.
