I am busy rebuilding a classic land rover defender 110 (puma). Earlier this year I started stripping the vehicle down to determine what parts I would require for the first section of the rebuild (in this case the rear axle, brakes, prop shaft, suspension and hubs). Initially I made contact with LR service center and got a response from an Ismail (one of their service support agents). I submitted a parts list along with the vehicles vin number via email but never recieved any response from Ismail. A few months later I decided to trust the online sales platform offered by LR Service center and ordered the parts online. The online platform indicated the parts based only on my selection of vehicle type as "Land Rover Defender 1983 to 2016". On selecting a part, I checked that my vehicle (i.e. >2007 defender 110) was listed and proceeded to check out the required parts. I placed two orders which combined total was well of R20,000. On receipt of the parts and me doing the initial checks I noticed that basically none of the parts actually fitted my vehicle. I raised the concern with LR Service Center upon which I was contacted by the same Ismail whom I treid to get the parts from earlier. Ismail did not waste time to try and blame me for selecting the wrong parts and that it was my fault for not selecting the correct parts, this despite me trying earlier to not work throught the web service as I know there is many variants of parts on these vehicles. I lost my temper with Ismail as I could very clearly gather on the phone call that Ismail was not going to accept any liability for the incorrect parts. It has now been two weeks since I communicated the wrong parts delivery to LR Service center and even after information them that I will be leaving a bad review I still have not received a solution to the problem from them. I will be taking my business elsewhere in completing this build and take the learning on the chin. What I have now is very expensive garage ornaments
