warning to all LP gas users in South Jhb

Warning to LPG gas users in the south of Johannesburg On Saturday 28/04/18 my wife and myself went a gas supplier (Gas Groove ) at Uncle Charlies Garage, Ridgway, Jhb. We wanted a 48kg cylinder refill, a man called Ahmed told us that he did not have any gas as he was waiting for a delivery. He undertook to deliver a full cylinder to our home address on Monday 30/04 to which we agreed to and paid for it there and then. On the Monday the cylinder was delivered and I had the driver place it into my gas storage area as I was using a19kg at the time and wanted to finish this first before connecting the new 48kg. This I did and connected the 48kg on 17/05/18. The new 48kg ran out on 04/06/18, and the problems arose. I went Gas Groove the next day (05/06/18) and spoke to a lady there who told that I would have to speak to Ahmed and he was the only one that could assist. I finally spoke to Ahmed on Saturday 09/06/18 and was told what turned to a long series of promises, first that he had check the fitting of the cylinder and the piping. I eventually collect one of his guys to take him to my house to check as Ahmed said he was very busy, all the piping was correct with no leaks. Ahmed then promised to collect and deliver another cylinder of gas and carried on promising the same up until today 26/06. This means that I have paid for a full cylinder and received one that lasted, tops, three weeks. I check our usage with each cylinder and it works out at +- 500 to 600 grams per day. This means that of the so-called 48kg I was only given about +- 35kg. I have spoken to other gas users and found that this company are not filling the cylinder up to the correct weight. One told me that he purchased a 9kg bottle and decided to weigh it out of curiosity and it weighed 8.7 kg, that is, including the weight of the cylinder! It would seem that this is Gas Groove’s method of making more money. My wife and myself live in a small cottage and have a 20 litre push-through gas geyser and a hob top with four small burners, my wife works and I am retired so we use very little gas at all. I have had the geyser and the gas lines checked by Gas & Equipment with positive results on both. I have been speaking both personally and telephonically with Ahmed of Gas Groove for the last three weeks, the last on 26/06/18, and each time he has said he would be delivering the same day with no results.
