Frustrated by the Lawn-Mower Super Coaster Loncin 196CC that refuses to do what it was manufactured to do.
Hi Hello-Peter:
On the 3rd February 2020, I went to Loxton's Mower & Garden Center of Randburg and bought me a lawn-mower stockade:M-SC-LONCIN196, described as SUPER COASTER LONCIN 196CC at the price of R8,868.70 plus VAT R1,330.31 for a total out of pocket amount of R10,199.01.
The lawnmower was sold to me by Joseph Mamaila. My given account no.COD0009. I was sold the lawn-mower on the promise it would be excellent for my 3 acre land on Plot 20, Elandsdrift.
I bought the lawn-mower because of need, unfortunately the lawn-mower proved to be more of a liability than an asset, this lawn-mower would be a hustle to start, let alone actually cut the grass, due to the lock-down in April 2020 after many false starts I put it away.
At the beginning of 2021 0n the 7 February 2021 I took it back to Loxton's and Joseph Mamaila, he told me; I should have brought in before the expiry of the guarantee.
He then said, "I was not to worry, they will hand it in for service and see what they can do." I was required to agree to a further charge of R1,000 and sign as my commitment to pay should the charges amount to R1,000 or more. I signed.
I believe a week passed and when I came back after they called me I was charged R500 for the repair by Shaun. I took the mower home, and as before we could not get it started once we got it home and neither could my garden employee.
It soon became a routine for me to take it in and out of the workshop and the employees of Loxton even confessed that the "Loncin 196CC" has proven to be a disappointment.
I have been to the Randburg Centre about 5 times between February 2021 and April 2021. I spoke to their service manager a man called Paul and no improvement has been seen by me or my gardener.
The last I heard from them was when they sent their driver to come and deliver this same lawn-mower early this month of May 2021.
He tried to start it with difficulty and when it would start and as soon as he stopped it, it would take a lot of effort to restart it. I then asked him to take it back with the request that they replace this mower with one that worked. He agreed to return it nut asked that I call the shop.
I called the shop and spoke to Shaun and he said not to worry, they will do something about the mower. Two weeks passed and Shaun had a lady to call me pointing out that the mower was ready to be picked up.
I then told her my incremental problems with the back and forth with that Loncin 199C and requested for a replacement. She said she can't promise me anything instead she will ask that Shaun call me back and I can tell him my desire for a replacement of the Loncin 199C.
That machine is still with them. I have not heard from Shaun since. They do not seem to have an email address. Their contact details: Panners Investment T/A Loxton's of Randburg, P.O.Box 1137, Ferdale, 2160 and their Telephone *** and their Reg No:*** VAT No. ***
