Poor Services from nurses

I was transferred from Netcare Akasia to Louis Pasteur Hospital on 7 May 2023 around 15:20. I requested water from the nurses shortly after being admitted to Medical Ward (6th floor, room 3) and only received water after almost an hour.

I had a drip from Netcare Akasia and I asked Nurse Queen to remove it because there wasn’t any medicine being administered and it was painful. Nurse Queen then said Nurse Sambo was still going to give me medicine so they couldn’t remove the drip as yet.

The day shift nurses then handed over to the night shift nurses. I asked one of the night shift nurses to remove the drip and she said she was still doing handover with the day shift nurses and they will remove it once they are done with the handover. Another 2 hours passed and I again told the nurse about the painful drip and it was only removed around 21:00 at night.

The nurses were not emphatic nor gentle with me as a patient because after I was discharged both my arms were bruised from the manner in which they put drips in both arms.

I’m not happy with the service that I received and I will not be going to Louis Pasteur Hospital in future.
