NURSES FROM HELL !!!
My 70 YEAR OLD MOTHER was admitted for further testing on her right shoulder which was operated on for a torn ligament. Her right arm was in a sling, which also happens to be her primary arm to do basic things like eating and bathing, which when used caused excruciating pain that would cause her to cry if she did any of these things on her own and unassisted.
After being admitted at this "private" hospital, my mother's treatment, at the hands and mouths of such demonic so called "nurses", was nothing short of traumatic and unbearable for anyone, let alone an elderly lady with such a problem to have to endure for 72 hours.
My mother was: 1) BELITTLED IN FRONT OF OTHER PATIENTS,
2) MOCKED AT WHILE WITH OTHER STAFF BEING PRESENT,
3) REFUSED TO BE GIVEN A BATH WHEN BEGGING to be assisted. INSTEAD THE NURSE TOLD MY MOTHER SHE SHOULD "EXERCISE" HER OPERATED RIGHT HAND, TIED A MEDICAL GLOVE ACROSS HER LEFT WRIST SO TIGHTLY THAT IT STOPPED HER BLOOD FLOW AND HURT HER SO BADLY AROUND HER WRIST. EVENTUALLY THIS NURSE, REALISING MY MOTHER'S STRUGGLE AND CRYING PLEAS TO HELP HER TO WASH HER BACK, LEFT HER THEREAFTER TO FINISH WASHING THE REST OF HER BODY WITH THAT BATTERED AND BRUISED LEFT HAND AND WRIST.
MY MOTHER CRIED TO ALL OF THIS MISTREATMENT AND LACK OF COMPASSION BECAUSE SHE COULDN'T DO IT HERSELF AND WAS FORCED TO UNDERGO THIS PAINFUL AND AGONISING TRAUMA AT THE VERY HANDS OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE PAID TO HELP THE PATIENTS IN THIS HOSPITAL. EVENTUALLY AFTER BEING RIDICULED AND ACCUSED OF LYING OF HER PAIN TO USE HER OPERATED ARM, WAS EVENTUALLY ASSISTED TO DRY HERSELF OFF AND GET DRESSED.
4) REFUSED TO BE ASSISTED TO EAT EVEN THOUGH HER LEFT HAND HAD BEEN BRUISED AND PAINFUL FROM THE EVENT OF BATHING HERSELF.
TO ADD TO HER DEMISE, SHE WAS ALSO ACCUSED TO BE A **** THAT HER LEFT WRIST WAS BRUISED BECAUSE OF WHAT THE NURSE HAD DONE WHEN SHE NEEDED TO BATH.
After this ordeal, she was also forced to bear witness of being the subject of public ridicule and embarrassment amongst the nursing fraternity on duty at that ward.
She repeatedly had to get off the bed in her weak state and walk to the nursing staff to remind them that her drip had been finished. This subsequent lack of medical attention/duty had caused her repeated pain on her arms and veins.
NOW IMAGINE THIS WAS YOUR CHILD OR FATHER, MOTHER OR GRANDPARENTS HAVING TO GO THROUGH THIS ALL BY THEMSELVES and you could do nothing?
How is it justifiable to be treated in this manner, even after reporting some of this poor treatment on day 1 to a senior?
What condones this lack/absence of empathy, moral duty, understanding and patience? NOTHING!!!
If nurses can deliberately make time to poke fun at the weak and needy, deliberately ignore their calls for urgent assistance and play judge and jury of someone's emotional and physical trauma, do they really deserve to be working at all, in such a profession, DEFINITELY NOT!!! SHAME ON YOU ALL!!!
