***** prices and incompetence
Hello.
On 09/01/2019 I walked into L’ongle Spa for my wig to get washed. I did it mainly because it’s one of the fewest black owned salons in Melrose Arch so I wanted to support them and I thought they would understand my hair better. I walked in and asked the receptionist how much the service I requested would be and she clearly stated that it would be R350. She didn’t say it once so I was sure that that would be the said amount. I returned again with my wig this time and she stated yet again that the service would be R350 and she pointed me to the man who would be doing my hair. She then told me to return around three,I even took my lunch break at that time to make life easier for me aswell as the guy who was doing my wig. I returned at that time and the guy was not done so I asked him to bring it. When e bought my wig back it was in perfect condition and he did a splendid job,as I handed him the money he told me the money was short and that the service was infact R450. And I was shocked because this was the price that their own receptionist had given me. He left.
After his departure I got multiple calls from them and a lady who works at the hair salon came and she told me about that the price then I told her that it was their receptionist who told me the price MULTIPLE times so I wouldn’t have gotten it wrong. Then she told me that it was her and I was angry because she was insulting my intelligence cause I remember who exactly I spoke to and it was not the lady standing Infront of me. And I told her I couldn’t pay as I did not have the card on me.
This very lady who claims to be the one who spoke to me returned on 14/01/2019 and she is asking for the remainder of the amount.
What makes me angry about this whole ordeal is that I feel like they are trying to bamboozle me because I supposedly don’t know my rights (you give a customer a product at the price that THEY know of,the amount on the box is what the customer pays). They don’t have a catalogue so the price they told me is the one I am legally supposed to pay as a consumer and what ANGERS ME THR MOST is that the lady who came to claim the money is a different one from the one who’s told me the amount so I am disappointed in the way things are run at L’ongle Spa, and now they are telling me that the receptionist is actually new and is not fami**** with the prices.
I paid the remainder of the amount but I will not be returning to L’ongle Spa because I no longer trust them. They solved an internal issue outside of the store which is also ***** to me. This is an indication that when we choose to move to other businesses it’s not about race but about competence also. I am truly angry and disappointed
