Relocating

Nobody denies the fact that it’s a rather traumatic time in one’s life when you are relocating; when you have to pack up your household and move to another place. It does, however, give comfort when the moving company you’ve commissioned to transport your treasured household items reassure you of great service, professionalism, and meticulous care during the whole transport process.
Unfortunately, these promises and reassurances that we’ve received by Logtec Furniture Removals (operating under the name Logtec Moves Africa) at the end of January 2017 proved to be empty. We suffered enormous losses due to damages to our household items. It is an absolute disgrace how Logtec executed their task. The team clearly showed no respect for our belongings and had no interest in doing their job well; not even at the most basic level.
If it were only a scratch or two (or three) here and there, I would have been able to acept that as part of a furniture removal process. But my tumble dryer and dish washer were snapped, my solid wood dining room table had deep ‘ditches’ carved into it, the headboard of my bed set broke off completely, the gas heater was bent, the fridge had terrible scrathces, and many other items got badly damaged. No doubt the Logtec team of movers simply loaded our stuff into the truck with zero application of basic removal rules. No care, no respect, no app**** knowledge, no pride in what they do!
I have attempted to have constructive discussions with Eben Saunderson ***ner of the company) about the ********** situation and despite empty promises from his side “to make things right” nothing but nothing has come from it to date. He stated, among others, that he takes pride in his company, that he would not leave me ‘hanging’, and that he would deal with the “crisis”. Another bunch of empty promises and reassurances, because he has not displayed a single effort since to address the problem. It seems as if talk is cheap with him.
From what I now gather on the ‘HelloPeter’ consumer website, I’m by far not the only one who’ve had a horrible experience with this company. Some of the comments are “Worst service ever! will never use again/recommend”, “Worst ever removals”, “Logtec removals - after 4 months we are still waiting for our stuff to be moved from polokwane to oudtshoorn”, “Never use this removal company!”, “Shocking service and attitude”, “*********** smooth talking *****. Avoid”, “Stay away - worst move ever - ********** operation”,” and “Cancelled our move but no refund!”
At this stage, the best I can do is to share my experience with as wide an audience as I can and offer a stern warning NOT to make use of Logtec and not to believe the statement made on its website, that it is “operating according to the highest standards of service out there today.” Based on my own experience, that is a blatant untruth.

I would like to respond to my post about Logtec. The owner, Eben phoned me tonight to give me the reassurance that he will handle this problem. He said he wil come to my house to make an assessment . He promised me that this will happen within the next month. He also asked for photos of my damages as well as a list. I will post again within a month to tell you wether he kept his promises. Dankie Eben!!

Eben have promised me on the 19th of march that I will hear from him within a week to make an appointment to come and see me. Up to today I have not heard anything from him. I have a recording of the conversation. I have sent emails with the list of my damages, and I asked him to confirm receipt there of.... nothing up to now... He is making a fool out of me and I am loosing my cool.... !!!! Do not believe anything he says or promises... it is empty words.... Thanks Eben.... for nothing!!!! I will not recommend him to do your removals. I will change this statement when my damages are looked after and replaced / repaired... nothing before....
