****** of over R100,000 - ********* Practice

Beware of making any sort of deposit payment to this entity, now trading as "Lofts" I believe.

In a nutshell, I paid over more than R100,000 to them as deposit on a conversation a few years ago, and almost immediately after that it was extremely difficult to get hold of anyone there (Richard).

After an endless struggle, I eventually received 1 x A4 draft of a proposed addition, which looked nothing like what was discussed initially. As the design was not to my satisfaction, I ended up requesting to cancel the project, and to be billed for the design of that 1 unapproved Draft I received, all I ever received.

I am still waiting for my statement to this day, and seeing as I paid a smooth R100k for a drawing of a box, I'd expect this to be made available to me. As I should thus be in credit no?

Now, and this is where it gets unbelievable, but this crowd down right refused to confirm the cost of that single drawing, and happily retained my entire deposit with absolutely no justification. I expended the last bit of my savings at the time on legal fees to try and recover my deposit so I could put it back in my mortgage due to financial constraints, yet Lofts yet again essentially just refused to cooperate hiding behind the claim of me having signed their terms and conditions. Turns out this was a complete fat lie, as I never signed any such terms, nor would I have. In fact, these "terms" allowing them to keep my down payment was only sent to me after I actually paid the deposit over, after being hounded for it.

So there you have it, more than R100,000 taken with no justification at all, sounds morally sound now doesn't it. Absolutely disgusting to say the least, by far the most ********* practice I've ever encountered in my life. Still to this day I'm having to pay off a significant amount of money on a property I don't even own anymore, all while Richard and the rest of these guys made bank for zero services rendered.
