Very Bad Experience for a 3 year old.

Mzanzi Super League Supersport Park Tshwane Spartans VS Paarl Rocks Friday 29 November 2019

Just a little info on what happened: My wife, son and I went to the Centurion Cricket grounds(Supersport Park) to watch the game between the Spartans and the Paarl Rocks. We arrived a bit late, there were only 6 overs left of the first innings. My son and I went to buy cold drinks (coke and coke zero) I walked to the bar/shop where I saw one fridge had cokes inside. Stood in the line with my son who is 3 years old.

As I got the front of the line about 10minutes since we started the cue. A Lodge Security guard tells me to leave the line and that I have to go to another shop and stand in another line because, and I quote: “ Your son can’t be in this line he is underaged and will buy beer” so obviously I started laughing thinking this must be a joke, how will a 3 year old buy beer?

So I continued ordering (10 cokes). Then this security guard gets aggravated and starts shouting at me, pushing his face into my face and tells me that I will now have to be thrown out of Supersport Park.

I told him he will have to call his supervisor because this is ridiculous. He scared my son so badly that my son clinched onto my leg and looked at me and said “Dad I’m scared can we leave?” So I grabbed the cokes that I paid for and started making my way back to where we were sitting.

Then six other security guards surrounded us. And starting yelling that we have to leave now. So I started explaining to the one that seemed to be in charge that I will not be treated like a ******** for buying coke’s.

Unfortunately I don’t have sufficient information on the Security guard that started this unnecessary conflict. He could have told me that I was in the wrong line and that next time I must please use the other line when I am accompanied by my son. Then there wouldn’t have been a problem. Instead he chose to be aggressive and chose to scare my son who now doesn’t want to watch cricket anymore. He now says “cricket is stupid” all because of one security guard that was clearly in a bad mood.
