Lost my apartment key. Found MSD Locksmith on the internet. Their adverti*****t said R280 for a call out fee. The person confirmed telephonically that was the call out fee. The person arrives and gets to work. Doesn’t give a quotation and I still in a panic from the whole event, didn’t think to ask. Once the job is complete he bills me R5000. When I asked how come, his reply was he is an emergency service. This was still early in the day. I was very upset. He then reduced the bill to R3400. He wasn’t prepared to reduce it further. I had to phone a few friends to get this money together as I didn’t have this ridiculous amount lying around. This is not an ethical company. Wish I’d known at the time what to ask. I guess being a female he saw an opportunity. Later I googled reviews and found that this is their modus operandi. They **** people and are rude. An expensive lesson to learn but always ask for quotations. MSD LOCKSMITHS ARE NOTHING BUT ********** OPERATING IN GAUTENG.
