Do not use Lockpro

Had a terrible experience with this locksmith. Responded to their internet ad which pushes "affordability" as their main selling point. I directly asked for an estimate of the service fees to open a safety gate and replace the lock. I was told the call-out fee us R450 and "maybe extra depending on labour."

The guy arrived more than an hour and a half after I called which put his arrival after 5pm. It took him all if 7 minutes to replace the lock.

When I asked for the invoice, the charge was R1695, well in excess of the R450 I was quoted. At no point did he even try to inform me that I was looking at a bill of nearly two thousand rand to replace a R50 lock.

If I was told this from the start I would never have engaged his services. I'd contacted a locksmith last year at my rental apartment for a similar service. I was given an estimate by email and paid R600.

R1695 without any warning after quoting R450 is deceptive and dishonest. He refused to leave until the invoice was paid and, when I told him I had to pay by EFT, tried to insist that I do an "immediate payment" which I refused to do.

Do not use "lockpro" it's more like "con pro"
